Dolina Bystrej

The Bystra Valley

krajobraz górski na dolinę

Zakopane Tourist region: Tatry i Podhale

The Bystra Valley belongs to one of the most crowded valleys, although it is not fully in tourists' consciousness. Spread at the foot of Nosal, along the Bystra Creek and along the road leading to Kuznice, the valley is treated as a base for all the main and most popular Tatra trails. The Kasprowy Wierch railway line and the junction in Kuźnice are in its area.

The Bystra Valley is the point where all the most important valleys start their runs: the Jaworzynka Valley, the Kondratowa Valley and the Goryczkowa Valley. At its outlet there is a network of trails to Hala Gąsienicowa, the Kalatówki Glade and to Hala Kondratowa, Kasprowy Wierch and further - the High Tatras. Apart from numerous tourist trails in the Bystra Valley, there are two historic monasteries: the Albertine Sisters Monastery (just before the Kalatówki Glade) and, a bit higher, the Albertine Brothers Monastery (on Śpiąca Mount).

The only way to get to Kuźnice is by public transport, but it is worth taking a walk along the Slowacki Boulevards, under the wooded top of Nosal. A visit to a shepherd's hut and a taste of fresh oscypek or żętyca is a must. During the Polish winter season, one can admire sheep grazing on the Kuźnicka Glade and stop for a moment of reflection at the Prometheus Shot Dead monument by Władysław Hasior.
