The horst hill is crowned with a Benedictine abbey. It is built of limestone and, together with the surrounding hills, creates a narrowing of the Vistula River bed called the Tyniec Gate. These limestones have been eroded, what can be seen at the example of a fairly large niche formed in the southern part of the hill. Slightly above it, there is a huge rock block separated by a fissure and several smaller debris that fell from the logging crown during the 1786 earthquake.
